David Chariandy – Brother
by Kim Davids Mandar
Gryphons Read is an extra-curricular book club at The University of Guelph. The program began last year, for first year students, with Zoe Whittall’s The Best Kind of People. This year, the scope of participation was broadened beyond first year students, and we all read Brother, by David Chariandy.
David visited The University of Guelph, engaging with faculty and students including an interview for The Ontarion and an open interview with Lawrence Hill. During this fortunate opportunity to engage in conversation with David in the CFRU studio, he generously shared insights about research, writing and travel to South Africa.
